Merlin Entertainments has tasked Brazen with promoting the relaunch of The Blackpool Tower.
The Tower will be re-opened to the public on 1 September after a 10-month restoration programme, ahead of the switching on of the Blackpool illuminationsl.
The redevelopment will include two new attractions at the Tower, The Blackpool Tower Eye and 4D Cinema experience and The Blackpool Tower Dungeon.
Brazen will highlight the potential of the seaside town as a family destination, with a campaign that will focus on engaging with memories of Blackpool and highlighting the news reasons to journey there.
Sarah Lundy, Blackpool cluster marketing manager at Merlin, said: “The Grade 1 Listed building, which first opened to the public on 14 May 1894 and shares the same prestigious status as St Paul’s Cathedral, will firmly put Blackpool back on the map as a popular family destination. This exciting opportunity has been made possible by the future thinking vision of Blackpool Council and their investment into The Tower structure, bringing it into public ownership for the first time in its 118 year history.
When The Tower re-opens, Merlin will be operating eight world-class attractions in Blackpool, our highest concentration of attractions in any one location around the world. Brazen has an excellent track record of working with Merlin having recently delivered an exceptional campaign to launch Madame Tussauds Blackpool, it made complete sense for them to deliver the next stage of our PR requirements.”
Peter Burling, client services director for Brazen, said: “For more than 200 years Blackpool has been synonymous with fun, seaside frivolities and childhood memories and now there are more exciting new reasons to take a trip to Blackpool.
“Re-introducing the media to this iconic attraction is a huge responsibility and a truly exciting opportunity for the agency," he added.
