BBC Worldwide to launch global iPlayer app

BBC worldwide is to launch a global iPlayer app which will run across 11 European countries.

The app will initially target users between the age of 25 and 40 on the iPAD, who will be able to download it for free, with a monthly subscription being set at €6.99, although an annual subscription will also be available.

BBC programmes such as Absolutely Fabulous, Fawlty Towers and Doctor Who, as well as Panorama and Eastenders will be available to view through it, according to The Telegraph, using 3G and wi-fi connections.

The app is currently being trialled by BBC Worldwide.
