Wayne Rooney's name most popular on replica shirts last season
Replica shirts with Wayne Rooney’s surname printed on the back were the most popular during the last football season.
According to the Premier League Review, Rooney’s name appeared on more replica shirts that Chelsea striker Fernando Torres, who was named as the second most popular, having topped the poll following the previous two seasons.
The Review is based on worldwide kit sales and saw Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard take the Number 3 spot.
Manchester United striker Javier Hernández’s nickname Chicharito (Little Pea) was named the fourth most popular, with the rest of the top ten rounded out by Robin Van Persie, Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, Luis Suárez, Andrei Arshavin and Ryan Giggs respectively.
