Glasgow based Screenmedia has sold their Sprint GPS Fitness Tracking app to US health & fitness company Peaksware LLC for an undisclosed sum.

The iPhone software was created to help runners and cyclists by measuring distance, pace and calories burnt.

Gear Fisher, CEO and co founder of Peaksware said: “Mobile GPS tracking applications make it convenient and easy for consumers to track their exercise and Peaksware is constantly innovating to make fitness tracking a seamless part of the training experience.

“With Sprint GPS's world-class design and user interface, runners, cyclists and walkers of all levels will be able to easily record their time, distance, route, steps and more using only their iPhone.”

Screenmedia is said to have reinvested the money in its mobile division and to help support the move to a new studio.
