Video Debate: The Advertising Association recently hosted a panel debate featuring IPA Director Nicola Mendelsohn, Lord Alan Watson, chairman of CTN Communications and journalist Sam Delaney discussing how the relationship between advertiser and consumer has changed since the days of Mad Men.

The discussion included the impact that social media has had on that relationship as well as discussion whether advertising is on the brink of a new ‘golden age’ of advertising and whether it could be used as a social and cultural barometer.

Held at the Royal Society of Arts, the event was the first of two debates which have been organised with the aim of discussing advertising and society.

The second debate will take place in Autumn.
