The Alton Towers Resort has launched a mobile app for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

The free app, which includes an interactive map, lets users buy tickets for the Theme Park and Waterpark and find out how long they will have to queue for rides.

There is also a 'find my car' tool to help them get back on the road at the end of a day at the attraction.

As well as the practical features, it also has a 'G-Force your Face' mode which shows users what their face would look like if they were riding the Oblivion roller-coaster.

"Its interactive features, as well as helpful information, means visitors make the most of their day out without getting lost in the Resort and more importantly locate their car after a day of action-packed adventure," said head of consumer marketing, Katherine Duckworth.
