The Mission Marketing Group has announced that Brian Child is to step down as non-executive director from September.

Child will not be replaced in the role with Chris Morris and Stephen Boyd also holding non-executive director roles with the group.

"The Company has successfully navigated one of the most challenging periods in the industry's history and has emerged a strong and confident player. The restructured Board is working well and I feel that now is an appropriate time for me to step down and concentrate on my passion for small companies,” said Child.

David Morgan, chairman of the Mission Group, added: "The Board would like to thank Brian for his contribution over the last five years and, in particular, for his role as Interim Chairman during the Company's refinancing last year. We have all enjoyed working with Brian and his experience, integrity, wise counsel and understanding of our industry has helped us enormously."

Child rejoined the Mission Group last April as part of a restructuring process.
