Scientific instrument manufacturer Waters Corporation has appointed brand communications agency Uniform to help with the launch of a new flagship centre in Manchester.

Uniform is the only UK agency working with Waters Corporation on this launch, with all other agencies involved being based in Boston, where the company’s head office is.

Waters Corporation are investing in a new mass spectrometry facility on a 37-acre site green site by Manchester Airport. The centre for the firm’s 500 staff in the region will be complete in 2013. The company currently has four offices in south Manchester.

Uniform created a film for the official international communication of the centre at the ASMS (American Society for Mass Spectrometry) conference in Denver and is currently developing a book for the company.

Nick Howe, MD of Uniform said: “Waters is world-leading - they’re pioneers in their market. There’s a great story to tell and we were keen advocates that they should begin communicating this story as early as possible to leverage the benefits.”

Claire Sharp, marketing communications manager of Waters said: “The new Manchester centre is one of the most significant investments in the company’s recent history – we needed an agency capable of bringing the story to life. The finished product was creative and imaginative and has inspired our staff and customers.

“Uniform demonstrated a high degree of creativity, professionalism and patience.”
