Freestyle Interactive has launched a new mobile website for Arriva Bus UK to help customers find out information about Arriva bus travel while on the move.

Freestyle has been working with Arriva Bus for the past four years and is currently developing its range of digital marketing communication campaigns.

The mobile website is a slimline version of the regular website, with users accessing the website from their handheld device being automatically redirected to the mobile website.

Freestyle account director Angel Gibbons said: “The new mobile site is the result of Arriva’s in depth understanding of consumer behaviour in digital. Arriva is a forward looking company and is focussed on meeting consumer demand by providing bus travel information that is easily accessible on-the-move.”

The website, which launched 20 June, has easier navigation and no pictures – literally just providing the service to check travel times.

David Shadbolt, Arriva Bus UK marketing manager, said: “Changing passenger behaviour is the motivation behind creating a fast and easy to use mobile version of the site. The travelling public want access to ticket, timetable, network routes and downloadable maps when they want it, wherever they are. This new site enables this regardless of the handset type.

“Increasingly we see the mobile channel, especially m-ticketing, as a crucial part of our customer service offer. It’s one of the reasons we have put a lot of effort into helping our customers get to grips with the concept of how easy and convenient m-ticketing is.”

Arriva Bus UK announced yesterday that over one million m-tickets have been bought across the UK since it launched the service in 2009.
