ELLE magazine has launched a free app for the iPhone, covering fashion, beauty and news.

This is the third app created by the ELLE brand, with the first two being a horoscopes app and the ELLE Collections iPad app, which looks at fashion collections.

Carrie Gorman, editor of ELLEuk.com, said: “ELLEuk.com is the first to break fashion, beauty and star style news, so it made sense to make this content even more accessible - to digest at your convenience wherever you may be. From who’s taken over at a major fashion house to which lipstick to wear or heels to buy, you’ll be effortlessly up to date.”

The ELLEuk.com iPhone app is part of the ELLE brand strategy to allow consumers to be able to consume the content in whatever form they want, and be able to do it on the go. It also allows users to bookmark their favourite content to the ‘My ELLE’ section as well as post links straight to Facebook and Twitter.

Anna Jones, digital and strategy director at ELLE’s publishing house Hachette Filipacchi, said: “We are thrilled to be launching another mobile product into the market as well as the next version of ELLE Collections for the iPad.

“We are committed to developing our content for emerging platforms and see innovation in this space as key to our long-term digital strategy. Both these new products offer another excellent way to reach fashion lovers and a fun, interactive and engaging experience of the ELLE brand.”
