Russell Stout, the last remaining founding director at Edinburgh-based digital agency Whitespace, has announced that he will leave the business later this year.

Stout has decided to take up new challenges and will be leaving Whitespace on 30 September.

A statement released by the agency said that it was always Stout’s intention to leave at some point after the departure of
co-founding directors (Don Galloway and Carol Coulter) in 2008.

Phillip Lockwood-Holmes, Iain Valentine and Emma Jardine will continue to manage Whitespace in their existing roles as equal shareholders.

Stout says: “I’m immensely proud of what’s been achieved by myself and the team over the years and pleased to be departing the agency on a high. We’ve got some fantastic business wins under our belt and with a talented group of people in place, I truly believe I’m leaving behind an agency that’s in position to be what agencies of the future are meant to be.”

Stout is departing to pursue digital consultancy work and begin a new business venture based around producing low-volume, high-end sports cycles.
