Ofcom produces interactive map of UK broadband infrastructure
Ofcom has launched an interactive map of fixed broadband in the UK which is the first duty to be completed as part of the media regulator's remit.
The interactive map uses actual data from communications providers about the UK’s broadband infrastructure and if the first stage to be completed by Ofcom which is required to submit a report every three years to the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, on the communications infrastructure.
Users are able to zoom in and out of administrative authorities around the UK, with the map aiming to offer a picture of the provision of broadband around each area, as well as the availability of superfast broadband, average broadband take-up, average speeds and the percentage of homes not receiving 2mbit/s speeds.
