Radio station Capital FM Scotland has hired Adele Cunningham as its new Saturday presenter for the 8am-12pm slot.

Cunningham, who started on 2 July, said in a statement released by Capital FM: “It’s a privilege to be working with the Capital Scotland team, especially [managing director] Paul Cooney and [programme controller] Stuart Barrie, who I have always looked up to. I’m really excited to be working at Capital Scotland.”

In the last few weeks she has been hosting some evening programmes for Capital FM, who put a request into Ofcom last week to change its format from being a rock and dance station for under 39s to being a rhythmic music station for 15-29 year olds with news.

Cunningham previously worked on Radio Clyde for two years, first as a travel reporter then co-presenting the breakfast show with George Bowie.
