Quality Meat Scotland has appointed The Union to handle its advertising account following the closure of incumbent Merle.

The Edinburgh agency, which held the account until July last year upon the appointment of Merle, was reappointed following a tender from within the Scottish Government’s creative services tender a spokesperson for QMS confirmed.

Meanwhile, QMS has also this week unveiled a new cooking app, created by Union Digital, which was launched for the Royal Highland Show.

The app aims to help consumers cook the perfect roast of steak using Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb and Pork from Scotland within meals, offering cooking advice and recipes.

Suzie Carlaw, Quality Meat Scotland Marketing Manager, said the new app had taken three months to develop and would be a useful aid for cooks of ages and skill levels.

“What we are aiming to do is bring tradition and innovation together so the latest technology can help consumers get the best from our wonderful, traditionally produced beef, lamb and pork,” said Carlaw.

“By using this simple-to-use app cooks of all levels of ability should be able to get maximum enjoyment from eating steaks and roasts.”

The app is available to download from iTunes for free.
