The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) North West group has launched a ‘CV doctor’ service to help graduates and young professionals break into the job market.

CV doctors will include Jo Leah, MD of Weber Shandwick North; Abi Whitfield, group account director at McCann Erickson; Sandra McDowell, partner at Amaze PR; Jon Brown, managing partner at Paver Smith and Tearmh France, corporate communications manager at Warburtons.

In the service, which will be run until the end of August, after a CV has been emailed to ciprnw@admin-answers.co.uk, a personal reply will be sent by a CV doctor with advice such as how to make the CV stand out from the crowd, how to enhance work experience, and how to tailor a CV for roles.

Erin Portsmouth, chair of the CIPR North West group, said: “Today’s tough job market makes it even more challenging for graduates and young professionals wanting to get their big break in a successful agency or in-house team.

“CIPR North West is keen to support people starting out on their PR career from across the region as well as ensuring that the industry has access to a talented pool of up and coming professionals.”
