Golley Slater Scotland has designed an Offshore Wind Scotland portal for the Highlands and Islands Enterprise, aimed at providing up to date information about wind energy.

The portal, launched by Alex Salmond at the All Energy Scotland conference on 18-19 May, was developed to help businesses and individuals interested in offshore wind to find relevant information on one, Scotland-wide, website.

It includes an interactive map showing all offshore wind related sites, a pan-Scotland video promoting the sector and information on current and proposed offshore developments.

Lena Wilson, chief executive of Scottish Enterprise, said: “The implementation of the industry led offshore wind strategy is delivering many success stories for Scotland and this portal, offshorewindscotland.org.uk, is a great example of that strategy and true collaboration in action. It is a major step for Scotland in providing a well connected, one-stop information shop, for the offshore wind sector to further grow and develop.”

Gillian Wylie, account director at Golley Slater, said: “The portal was an exciting project to develop. Our clients wanted a new concept to create a fluid and comprehensive perspective of the offshore wind industry highlighting Scotland’s competitive advantages in this sector.

“We turned fragmented information, previously only available across a number of different websites, into a one-stop shop for the offshore wind sector. The portal has already attracted attention nationally and internationally.

“As an integrated agency we were able to bring influences from advertising, digital and public relations to the content creation and development – an approach that is continually delivering benefits for many of our clients.”
