Department store TJ Hughes is expected to become the latest high street retailer to go into administration later today.

The store is set to join fashion chain Jane Norman, Habitat and HomeForm which have all been forced to call in administrators in the last seven days.

TJ Hughes filed an intention to appoint an administrator yesterday, with Ernst & Young thought to be interested in the company which had 57 stores and 4,000 staff.

Jane Norman, which has 90 stores and over 100 concessions, was yesterday placed under control of administrator Zolfo Cooper.
