HTC are to follow up their popular smartphone range with a leap into the third dimension when they introduce the Evo handset in the UK next month.

The phone is designed to record and play 3D stills and movies which can be viewed without the need for cumbersome glasses.

A revamped interface also now makes full use of the third dimension with an updated interface and graphics that even includes 3D climate icons on the weather app.

HTC is keen to capitalise on the growing demand for 3D content by through its existing Movies service.

HTC’s handset is the second mobile to feature glasses free 3D following the LG Optimus 3D.
