Cult TV series ‘Rude Tube’ has launched an entertainment app, designed and developed by Metro, the digital hub of McCann Manchester.

Metro was commissioned to design and develop the mobile app by October Films, the production company behind the hit series which is screened on Channel 4 and E4.

The entertainment app will feature exclusive content and functionality.

October Films, based in London, is a British independent film and television production company. It usually specialises in making intelligent factual programming - from hard-hitting current affairs to factual entertainment series, observational documentaries, history and science programmes.

Ric Hayes, digital development director at Metro, said: “It’s been great working with such a creative company and we’re excited about the app being launched. Rude Tube is a significant new media name and we’re proud that October Films chose to partner with Metro to help them extend their content across digital touch points.

Duncan Nichol, brand producer at October Films, added: “The Rude Tube app is highly engaging and multi-layered. There is already a huge demand for the Rude Tube brand so this is a good opportunity to extend our reach and engage our audience in a new way.”
