Vimto has unveiled its latest TV ad featuring the animated fruit characters first introduced in its previous ‘Waltzer’ ad.

The ad, titled ‘Lowrider’, sees the characters relocate to Los Angeles and attempt to impress some Californian girls with a hydraulic suspension Lowrider and the now familiar line “Hello pretty ladies”.

The bouncing car delights the initially unimpressed girls, before a final forceful lurch smashes the fruits together exploding into Vimto and soaking the girls.

The ad finishes with the endline “Seriously mixed up fruit”.

Created by driven, the ad was filmed on Location in LA and directed by Frank Borin through Velvet Films, with visual effects and animation by The Mill in London, while MEC Manchester was responsible for media planning and buying.

Graham Drury, partner at driven, said of the new ad: “The Lowrider concept is a really impactful and original way for the fruit to get mixed up. The ad will be previewed by up to 175,000 Vimto fans on Facebook later today before breaking on TV on Friday. We’ll then be letting loose some innovative digital ideas around the Lowrider theme too.”
