A look at the St Ninians High School Active Nation Star School Award winning campaign

At the recent Scottish Marketing Star Awards, St Ninians High School won the Active Nation Star School Award.

The Glasgow secondary school won a competition for pupils studying Higher Business Management in which teams developed marketing strategies for the Scottish Government’s Active Nation health and fitness campaign.

The St Ninian’s team undertook market research from within their school while also spending time analysing the research before creating the slogan ‘Laugh Yourself Fitter’ to lead the campaign.

Social media was at the heart of the pupil’s campaign, as they aimed to encourage pupils, parents and teachers to seek out Active National classes in their area. They also aimed to encourage families and groups to come together make use of the sports facilities within the school.

The resulting creative work devised by the pupils is also available to view in the gallery (see left.)
