Whisky brand The Famous Grouse has commissioned Scottish illustrator Johanna Basford to bring to life the stories of 30 of the UK's most famous pubs.

Patrons are asked to go the brand's Facebook page and vote for their top 30 pubs out of The Famous 100, the Grouse's list of some of the most notable pubs in the UK.

Each of the top 30 will then receive a specially commissioned illustration designed by Basford to reflect their unique claim to fame.

Basford has become known for crowdsourcing illustration ideas through social media and once again followers will be able to send her suggestions on Facebook and Twitter.

As well as being presented to the lucky winning landlords for display in their bar, the illustration will also appear on a special model of the iconic red grouse which features on The Famous Grouse bottle.

The grouse model will then be auctioned to raise funds for the charity Save Britain’s Heritage.

Gerry O’Donnell, director at The Famous Grouse, said: “The Famous Grouse has been the best selling whisky in Scotland for the past 30 years, and so to celebrate we’d like to reward the 30 pubs from The Famous Grouse Famous 100 that are voted as having the best claims to fame.”

Basford, who attended Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, said: "I'm thrilled to be creating work for such an iconic brand as The Famous Grouse."

You can find out more and see Basford's artwork as it is created on The Famous Grouse Facebook page.
