Cheryl Cole dumped from British X Factor

Days after being sacked from the US iteration of the X Factor Cheryl Cole has been informed by show bosses that she is not needed on the British version either.

Cole had been offered a slot on the British show in order to make amends for her abrupt departure from the American show last week, but that offer has now been rescinded.

Reports in the Daily Mail suggest that this is because Cole has now gone to ground, ignoring all attempts at contact from TV executives, including Simon Cowell, to discuss such a transfer.

An unnamed source told the paper: ‘That’s it. Cheryl will not be returning to the British X Factor. People have been trying to speak to her and persuade her this would be a good idea, but she’s been uncontactable.”

Tulisa Contostavios, of hip hop group N-Dubz, will replace Cole on this year’s judging panel, joining Take That singer Gary Barlow, US pop star Kelly Rowland and format stalwart Louis Walsh.
