Matt Hatch, the managing director of Bristol-based smartphone app developer Mubaloo has stated that current technologies are making a huge amount possible.

Speaking at an Insider round table debate on media convergence, hosted at Baker Tilly’s offices in Bristol, Hatch said change in the technology sector is being driven by creativity.

“In a sense, the technology is almost ‘done’ now, in that it’s hugely enabling in this post-PC era. The hardware is commoditised and readily available and that means the innovation now is mostly in the software,” he said.

“I’ve moved from a hardware background into a software business these days, and the technological innovation is less tangible. The real change is being driven by creativity: how to make the best use of all of the technological power that has been developed. How to make platforms that people really want to use, in other words.”
