Newcastle-based software company hedgehog lab is opening a London office as it looks to triple turnover and staff numbers during this financial year.

The mobile software specialist, founded by former Th_nk staff Sarat Pediredla and Mark Forster in 2007, is predicting £500,000 turnover at the end of the year compared to £150,000 in 2010.

To help it on its way in London it has appointed Phil Bevis, a former marketing manager at Ryalux Carpets, as head of sales.

Padiredla said: "We experienced record breaking turnover during Q4 for the firm, and we felt that the time was right for the business to take the next step into London and capitalise on the boom of the mobile software market.

“By employing Phil we are securing our ability to make hedgehog lab more visible in the London market – he will act almost like an ambassador for the company. Phil will also advise the firm with his 35 years’ experience within sales to help guide our business development strategy over the coming years."
