The CEO of Havas Sport & Entertainment Lucien Boyer has said that France winning the bid to host the 42nd Ryder Cup in 2018 will ‘change the face’ of the sport in the country.

Havas Sport & Entertainment has been the official communications agency for the French Gold Federation for the last two year and has worked in developing the candidature for the 2018 bid.

Yesterday the bid was named as the winner against others from the Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden and Spain, and will take place at Le Golf National near Paris in 2018.

Lucien Boyer said, “For the last ten years, we have worked alongside the French Golf Federation in their communications strategy. Today we congratulate them on this victory, which will change the face of French golf thanks to the global media exposure of this unique tournament that brings together the greatest international golf stars in a team format. The organization of yet another major sporting event in France, and in particular the Ryder Cup, will contribute not only to the development of the sport, but will also bring the country of France and its hosting capabilities into the spotlight.”

Havas is currently working with the French Federation on reaching its target of doubling the number of licensed members playing Golf within the country over the next ten years.
