Creative charity NABS is set to hold an art auction with a difference in May to raise money for the advertising.

The charity will send out blank canvases to senior figures within the Scottish advertising industry as well as budding artists and ask them to paint, draw, write or do whatever they like with the canvas, which will then be shown at a special exhibition being held at dvertising agency Newhaven’s offices in Edinburgh.

The work will also be auctioned off to raise funds for the charity which aims to help people within the advertising industry who have fallen on hard times.

A similar project ran in London, with a contribution from artists Gavin Turk raising £3,000 alone.

Should this initiative be a success, it will be repeated in Manchester at a future date.

The canvases will be sent out next week and returned on 19 May, with the free-to-enter exhibition set to be held on the evening of 20 May.

Newhaven, which is the sponsor for the exhibition, has also developed an advertising campaign to raise awareness.
