Reckitt Benckiser-owned footcare brand Scholl has appointed healthcare communications consultancy Virgo Health to its PR account following a three-way pitch.
Scholl joins Virgo’s portfolio of healthcare brands which includes Nurofen, Strepsils, Lemsip and Gaviscon, and the agency is to support Scholl’s full UK product range as well as servicing its press office and launching topical campaigns.
Scholl senior brand manager Charlotte Brown said of the decision to hold a review of its PR: “These are exciting times for Scholl and we have a great opportunity to continue to strengthen our market leadership position. Reckitt Benckiser measures differently in terms of return on investment. We used this as an opportunity to review our PR.”
The PR accounts for both Scholl and condom brand Durex were put out to pitch having been acquired by Reckitt Benckiser last year when it took over SSL International.
Cambridge-based Myriad PR, which had previously handled both, is understood to have retained the Durex account after pitching for both.
