Wayne Rooney signs up to Twitter as Wazzaroon08
Within hours of joining Twitter, Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney had amassed 150,000 followers, although he has already found the service tricky to use.
The first tweet sent by the footballer was to team-mate Rio Ferdinand where he wrote "Hi Rio do you want picking up in the morning pal."
His message, using the username Wazzaroon08, according to The Sun, failed to be received however as he failed to use Ferdinand’s username rioferdy5.
He later sent a tweet, successfully, where he said: "Hi all this is Wayne Rooney just started so bare with me. Hope all is well. I'll get rio to approve it's me guys. Xoxo".
Other messages including a mention of his son Kai, and a picture of himself outside a tanning booth (pictured).
