Microbrewery Brewdog is to launch a limited edition beer containing Viagra to mark the royal wedding.

40 bottles of the 7.5% ABV beer which contains Viagra, horny goat weed and chocolate will go on sale on 29 April as Brewdog aims to “take the wheels off the royal wedding bandwagon being jumped on by dozens of breweries”.

Called Royal Virility Performance, the beer was conceived following Brewdog co-founder James Watt’s growing dismay at the number of brewers producing wedding ales.

Watt said: “The Royal Virility performance is the perfect antidote to all the hype. A beer should be brewed with a purpose, not just because some toffs are getting married, so we created something at our brewery that will undermine those special edition beers and other assorted seaside tat, while at the same time give the happy couple something extra on their big day.”

Marketing material for the beer is to use the strapline “Arise Prince Willy” and a bottle has already been sent to William. Proceeds will go to Centrepoint - a charity supported by the prince.
