Dow Jones and Company is to roll out a series of innovations through Factiva in the coming weeks, including a new iPad app which will aim to offer more global content.

The tablet app is expected to include new features such as a customisable ‘Snapshot’ content views which will illustrate key trends across nine languages in order to offer users better access to Factive’s global business intelligence.

Scott Schulman, president of Dow Jones’ Corporate Markets group, explained: “We’re an information-driven economy.

Now more than ever, professionals need the ability to access relevant business intelligence that will support or prompt business decisions. They need that content to be global, they need to have a high degree of trust in the information, and they need to be able to access it anywhere.” He added, “Factiva is at an important intersection between business content and technology, and these changes address the key trends influencing how our clients do business and compete.”

The new user interface and information Snapshots will aim to allow customers the ability to monitor and find meaningful information, with a personalised view of information and event on specific industries, company, region and topic available in a single view through timeslines, heat maps and charts. These will be made available to help analyze business risks and opportunities, while also improving list and customer alert management.
