Apple has reportedly poached two of the gaming industry’s top PR execs: an indication perhaps of the company’s desire to be a major player in the gaming scene.

Nintendo UK’s head of communications Rob Saunders, who is to leave the video game giant at the end of April, is set to re-emerge in a newly created role at Apple heading PR across all iOS platforms, while Activision’s Nick Grange has been signed up to focus on iPad hardware.

Saunders was at Nintendo for seven years, playing a part in the launch of Nintendo’s Wii and DS. Grange meanwhile has worked at Electronic Arts, Microsoft and Activision.
