Richard Oliver has left The Mob Film Company to join the director roster at The Gate Films.

The commercial director's showreel boasts campaigns for clients such as Lexus, Umbro and the Scottish Government.

The Drum has learned that Oliver is the first of a handful of directors to join the Gate in the coming weeks. The Manchester and Edinburgh production company has lined up "big changes" for its fifteenth year in business.

Managing director Steve Byrne said: "The fact that Richard wanted to move to The Gate Films is vindication of the changes we've implemented of late.

"He is regarded throughout the regions as a top class director and his arrival is the first of number of high profile names to join the roster in the next month."

Oliver joined The Mob from fellow Manchester production firm Silver Films in September 2009. You can see a selection of his work here.
