A £1.8 million advertising campaign is to be released by Freeview to promote the service ahead of the Royal Wedding.

The campaign will aim to promote upgrading to the subscription-free Freeview HD service for the wedding, which takes place on 29 April and is expected to be the most watched event of the last decade.

Created by 18 Feet & Rising, the advert features three corgis (pictured) and follows their journey to watch the wedding.

Owen Jenkinson, head of marketing at Freeview, said: "The royal wedding is the most eagerly anticipated event of the year and a moment when the nation will be gathered around the TV.

"So what better time to talk about the benefits of Freeview HD, with viewers able to enjoy the incredible colour and detail that high definition offers with no monthly bills. We hope our dogs' tale will touch the hearts of the British public and encourage further uptake of Freeview HD,” he added.

The campaign will break on 9 April supported by national and consumer press, as well as radio and digital activity.
