A glitch that hit Twitter on Tuesday evening, forcing it to revert to its old homepage, are being blamed on the microblogging site’s newly revamped homepage.

The site has been attempting to launch a heavily redeveloped homepage, and has had some technical difficulties as a result, forcing it to quickly withdraw some of the new features. This was evident on Tuesday evening when it was forced to claim that it was ‘going retro today’ in reverting back it to the original homepage.

Another message a few minutes later saw the site declare that it was having to ‘temporarily’ disable the trends feature.

It is thought that the new homepage design may roll out later today however.
