Marketing company APS Group has partnered with Stockport Academy to work on two key programmes with staff and pupils.

The partnership will see the company provide pupils with support as part of Business Class, an initiative from business charity Business in the Community, which aims to foster long-term structured relationships between businesses and schools.

This will see APS offer students the chance to interview employees and learn how to create presentations and multimedia content, while staff members will also attend weekly reading sessions with Year 7 pupils.

Ben Dunne, principal at Stockport Academy, commented: “It is vital that our students understand how businesses operate as part of their Business Studies course. This partnership will provide them with first hand experience from local business professionals. It will also help students with presentation and communication skills, ultimately improving confidence levels. We are also very grateful for the time being devoted by the APS mentors to help improve literacy levels in Year 7."
