Communications company Weber Shandwick has undergone a strategic restructure in Scotland, promoting both of its joint deputy managing directors.

Lesley Clark has been promoted to vice president client services (International) while Moray Macdonald will become managing director of Weber Shandwick in Scotland, with both reporting to Nora Senior, executive chair UK regions and Ireland (pictured).

Clark will work alongside Senior in spearheading the growth of the Scottish operation into international markets, while have responsibility for international business development and multi-site team management. This will see her co-ordinate the implementation and delivery of international programmes across Weber Shandwick’s global network of 128 owned and affiliate offices.

Meanwhile, Macdonald will take over responsibility for the operation of the company’s four offices in Scotland – across Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness, with a staff total of over 50 people. He will also be tasked with growing the digital and social media offering in Scotland, in addition to his current role as head of public affairs in Scotland.

Senior explained: “These moves reflect our focus on developing two important strands of our business – international and digital innovation.”

She continued: “Weber Shandwick is in a unique position in Scotland - we operate in over 74 countries around the world, which means we are well placed to offer clients an established network with access to local cultures and markets. As global export markets are becoming more accessible to Scottish companies, we can assist growing companies to enter new territories, as well as blue chip organisations based in Scotland who are looking to strengthen and consolidate their reputation and messaging to their workforces in remote sites.

“We are making considerable investment in our digital services through recruitment and development of new online applications which enhance clients’ marketing strategies and are able to demonstrate increasing ROI on marketing budgets," added Senior.

Both appointments begin with immediate effect.
