A campaign to promote new 20th Century Fox animated feature Rio has seen Daybreak presenter Christine Bleakely take to the skies as part of a UK wide promotion.

The promotion, devised by Marmaduke Grimwig, will see the main character from the new film, Blu (pictured) - a domesticated McCaw who doesn't want to fly himself - being flown above cities across the country in the build up to the release of the film on Friday.

The first person to take to the skies was Bleakely (see gallery), who was strapped to a metal frame on top of the plane at Gloucestershire Airport and lifted thousands of feet into the air.

Bleakley’s own aerial adventure will be shown on Daybreak on Friday morning to tie-in with the movie's release date.
