It's one of the biggest games on Facebook, loved and played by millions. Yesterday it became larger than life as a flock of FarmVille sheep invaded New York and London

A piece of the countryside came to London and New York yesterday as games firm Zynga imported real, live sheep to both city centres to celebrate the launch of FarmVille English Countryside. Our picture shows the scene in Manhattan.

New Yorkers were met with the strange sight of a herd of sheep guided by English farmers parading through Times Square, Park Avenue and Wall Street to spread the news of FarmVille’s new release.
To mark this all-new chapter, English farmers brought their sheep to several London landmarks including the Jubilee Gardens.

FarmVille English Countryside allows players to try their hand at farming a second location in the English Countryside, complete with all new adventures, crops, and animals.

Over 200 million people have played FarmVille on Facebook since its introduction and there are 15 times as many farms in FarmVille as in all of the United States.
