Bottled water brand Highland Spring has appointed Story as its new marketing services agency.

The Edinburgh marketing agency will take over from Merle, who has worked with the brand since 2001.

Paul Condron, head of brand marketing for Highland Spring confirmed the appointment, saying: “Following a four way pitch Story will replace the incumbent merle who have worked with us for the last 10 years. The new agency will commence strategic planning in the next few months.”

The four way pitch is understood to have involved Merle, The Union, Story and Newhaven and included input by the Recommended Agency Register.

Condron continued: “We were impressed by Story’s passion for the brand. They demonstrated a very integrated approach with excellent creativity underpinned by a clear understanding of the brief and our desire to lead the market.”

He added that the company continued to have ‘the highest respect’ for the team at Merle, who he described as being ‘an extension’ of the company’s marketing team for the last decade.

“Their contribution towards the growth of the brand has been significant and we wish them well,” concluded Condron.

The brand continues to work with Multiply, GRP, Spirit Media, 999 and 3X1.
