Spoof Take That impersonators David Walliams, John Bishop, Catherine Tate, James Corden and Alan Carr are to debut their crooning abilities during a Comic Relief sketch tonight on BBC One.

Fake That will sing for their supper in front of the genuine article with messrs Robbie and co casting a critical ear over the comedians warbling.

Speaking of his new role David Walliams said: “Being in a boy band for the day was really tiring. We had to do all the dance moves. But when Take That did it they were like 22 - I'm 39, and I just thought 'I can't handle this'."

The telethon clogs up viewing schedules each year with wild one off fundraising events geared toward prising money from viewers toward charitable work at home and abroad.

Other highlights in the schedule include a spoof ITV’s popular costume drama, Downton Abbey.

The "real" (ironically) Fake That have allowed their trading name to be usurped by the Beeb band to aid their fundraising efforts.
