Jayne Nicholson, former classified sales manager for Newsquest Herald & Evening Times has joined Carnyx as sales manager.

Nicholson, who spent nearly 19 years at the Glasgow publishing company, replaces sales director Emma Stewart who is leaving to join Newsquest Herald & Evening Times - as its new classified sales manager.

Stewart leaves Carnyx, where she oversaw the sales team for The Drum, as well as its previous sister titles Urban Realm and The Firm, which have both recently been sold to their senior editorial teams. She also previously held the role of commercial manager for the Recommended Agency Register (RAR).

Stewart leaves after 10 years at Carnyx, having joined from The List in 2001.

Gordon Young, editor of The Drum commented: “Emma has done a hell of a lot for us over the last 10 years and we are very sorry to see her go. However, we are also delighted to welcome Jayne on board who brings with her a wealth of experience.”

In her new role Nicholson will oversee the running of the sales team for The Drum, driving sales for the magazine, website and other available commercial advertising opportunities.
