Glenfarclas extends Cheltenham horse racing sponsorship

Scotch whisky brand Glenfarclas has extended its sponsorship of Cross Country Steeplechasing at Cheltenham Racecourse for three more years.

The family-owned firm has agreed a deal which will run upto and including the Cheltenham Festival in March 2014.

The three Glenfarclas Cross Country Steeplechases at Cheltenham, which are all covered by Channel 4 television, take place in November, at The Open, December at the International and March at The Festival.

The company also sponsors races at Pau in South-West France and Punchestown in Ireland.

Charles Hamer, marketing director of Pol Roger, the European distributor of Glenfarclas, said: “We have been delighted with the first three years of our sponsorship of the Glenfarclas Cross Country Series and feel that we achieved many of our aims, particularly that of raising the public profile of the brand."
