The Professional Publishers Association (PPA) has announced that Stevie Spring chief executive of Future plc is to become its new deputy chair.

Spring will succeed Peter Phippen, managing director of BBC Magazines from 1 April.

PPA chairman Charles Reed, group managing director of William Reed Business Media, commented: "I very much look forward to working with Stevie, who I am sure will be an excellent deputy chair and, of course, the next chair of the PPA. I would like to thank Peter Phippen for his great service to the PPA these last few years as both chairman and deputy chairman."

Spring is also chair of Children in Need and a fellow of the IPA and the Marketing Society, as well as an honorary member of the Women’s Advertising Club and a patron of NABS.
