The Press Association is set to back the inaugural Online Media Awards, having agreed to come on board as the media partner.

The organisation, which develops multimedia content for around the world, will promote the awards, which aim to recognise successful online news reporting, to media companies across the globe.

Lynn Lester, managing director for events at Carnyx, commented: “We are delighted to welcome onboard the Press Association as our media partner of the Online Media Awards. We have already received an impressive amount of entries from key players from across the globe and by partnering with the Press Association we hope to spread the word to media owners who have not heard about the awards as yet. The competition is open to every media owner and we would encourage all sites - big or small - to put themselves forward if they feel they have an award winning site, worthy of recognition.”

For more information on the Online Media Awards contact katy.thomson@carnyx.com while entries can be made online through the website.

Deadline for entry is 24 March.
