Google reportedly set to launch social media product
Online rumours suggest Google could be about to take on Facebook with the launch of a social media product in May.
Tech website The Next Web suggests that 'Google Me', the firms much speculated drive into social media could launch at this year's I/O developers conference in San Francisco in May.
Google CEO Eric Schmidt said in September the company was looking to add a social layer to all of its products but since then no new social-based products have been launched.
Google has a habit of making product launches at the conference, which attracts developers from across the world. Last year Google TV was unveiled while in 2009 Google Wave was launched.
Google have yet to comment on the reports.
