The Central Office of Information’s chief executive Mark Lund is to stand down, having only joined from advertising agency Delaney Lund Knox Warren.

Lund is to leave to begin a new venture in the private sector, departing a week after the coalition Government announced that it was to extend its freeze on all ‘non-essential’ advertising until 2015.

"I was delighted to be appointed as COI chief executive and I am proud of what we have achieved in the last two years, but I can’t escape the fact that I am at heart someone who wants to run their own business more than anything else,” commented Lund.

He will continue in his role until May, with the search for a successor set to take place during the coming months.
