Freelance digital marketer David Craik has picked up new business with Skyscanner, Itison, the International Network of Street Papers, Albagaia and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

Craik, the former head of marketing at s1, said that over the last year his main focus has been on "some large consultancy projects" for the Herald & Times Group.

With those done he is now turning his attentions to a "diverse portfolio of clients".

Craik said: "I’ll be assisting Skyscanner in the planning and development of a consumer CRM programme. With Itison, my role is more about customer acquisition, using techniques like search engine marketing.

“Although at different stages of their development, each of those is a Scots-born digital brand that’s growing at a remarkable rate. So hopefully my experience with s1 will be invaluable.

“The INSP brief is to look at how we might develop digital products and revenue streams from the current print-focused offering. There are more than 100 street papers around the world, so it’s a project with an exciting global aspect.

“Albagaia is different again. It’s a small but cutting-edge biotech business, with a genuinely unique product and also with significant global potential. My remit is to develop an overall brand strategy and digital marketing plan.

“And for the RSAMD I’m working closely with Inner Ear on search marketing and social media activity in support of the Academy’s Summer Schools programme.”
