Many of BBC Breakfast’s programming team are turning their noses up at a move to Salford Quays, citing concerns over the impact on their families.

Sofa bound presenter Sian Williams is amongst a clutch of more than half of those working on the morning show who have yet to commit to the move, despite only five weeks remaining to make a decision.

Thus far only a handful of the 100 or so production team have committed to the exodus, leaving BBC executives worried that “less than 50%” of the current staff will ultimately commit

Concerned as to how the show can continue to function with such depleted resources managers are said to be seeking ways of luring staff north temporatily whilst alternative talent is sourced.

A host of top of the broadcasters top shows including Blue Peter and Match of the Day will relocate to BBC North within 12 months.
