Trinity Mirror network records largest online unique user figures

Trinity Mirror is the largest regional publisher online according to the latest ABC figures for unique online users.

Across its network, Trinity Mirror’s online titles receive 8,182,167 unique users a month on average while figures suggest that Johnson Press and Newsquest are both drawing similar to its network online platforms with 7,106, 831 monthly unique browsers for Johnson Press titles in comparison to Newsquest which draws around 7,450, 271 monthly unique users.

The figures reported for the regional publishers run from July until the end of December last year, and also show that Northcliffe Media, which was recently announced as being up-for-sale, records network monthly unique views across its network of 4, 177, 705.

Martyn Gates, ABC’s director of newspapers commented: “The regional newspaper groups reporting their online activity are all showing healthy year on year increases, demonstrating that their products continue to be relevant and an important source of local news and information for millions of people across the country.”

Meanwhile, only three daily regional newspapers have recorded any increase in their print reach with The Dundee Evening Telegraph growing by 3.4 per cent against year-on-year figures, while two of Archant’s titles,t he Eastern Daily Press and the Evening News both growing by 0.4 per cent and 0.5 per cent respectively.
